I've got this invitation from Toronto R&B singer songwriter, ColinReponse last night. He is having a party at El Mocambo on January 12th, Thursday to present his emotion-trigger originals, which are going to be included in his upcoming album. It's been almost a year since I witnessed his stellar acoustic performance, but I haven't forgotten his compelling voice that naturally draws attention from the audience.
On the top of his killer vocal, there will be FREE PIZZA and a magician! (yay) So don't miss this great evening fuelled with awesome music!!!
Yesterday was full of musical excitement: An announcement of Coachella's line-up, Van Halen's new video, The Shins' song premiere and announcement for a new album, the reunion of At the Drive-In. What stoked me the most amongst all this was the new album release by Great Lake Swimmers.

The recent release of a new EP, Art of Conviction, Toronto singer songwriter, Craig Stickland is ready to show what he's got to the rest of the world as a solo artist.
After four years of rock n rolling with a Toronto rock band, called We are The Take, Stickland hass continued his musical path as a singer songwriter, while working with a Canadian producer, Bill Bell in Los Angels.
His first solo album is filled with six songs that unspool with stories, inspired by his job as a bartender in Toronto, where he witnessed human behavior over wealth and power. While retaining country pop harmonies, Stickland conjures intimate moments for listeners to be drawn to each story of the album with his tenacious vocals.
Before heading back to LA to finalize his full album with Bell, Stickland announced a Toronto show on Tuesday, January 10th, at the Drake Hotel Underground with Brent Jackson (The Junction) and Megan Bonnel. (Click here for more details of the show) This is going to be my first show in 2012!!! Join me for a night with awesome music from local artists!!!
Wasting Time from his EP, Art of Conviction
This cover of the Strokes' Whatever Happened' blew my mind. Listen how different it is from the original.(I'd never thought this song would be so plaintive. )
